Publish with DreamEngine

Date Created: July 30, 2026

You've written your book, and you want it made properly. Publish with DreamEngine is professional book production for a flat fee. We edit it, design the cover, and lay out the interior. You publish it through your own Amazon account and keep everything it earns.

How It Works

Four steps, start to finish. A free assessment. A fixed quote. Production. Publication under your own account.

Step One: Free Manuscript Assessment

Send us your manuscript, or the first three chapters if it's long. There's no cost and no obligation. We read it and assess the scope of editing it needs. You get a written quote back covering editing, cover design, and interior layout.

Step Two: Production

Editing is priced by word count, so you only pay for the work your manuscript actually needs. Cover design is a fixed fee. Interior layout and typesetting, for both print and ebook, is also a fixed fee.

Step Three: Published

Your ebook goes into KDP Select, exclusive to Amazon, which includes Kindle Unlimited page-read earnings. Your paperback goes out with Amazon's Expanded Distribution. Both sit in your own KDP account. You keep 100% of what the book earns. Once it's live, our part is done. There's no ongoing fee, no admin, and no share of what happens next.

Optional: Add DreamEngine as Your Publisher

KDP gives every book a free ISBN by default, and lists it as "Independently Published." If you'd rather your book carried a publisher's name, we register a Nielsen ISBN under the DreamEngine Publishing imprint. Your book also gets its own author and book page on this site.

This is an identity choice, not a sales one. It doesn't add distribution, marketing, or any advantage to how the book sells. It means your book says "Published by DreamEngine" instead of "Independently Published," nothing more. One thing worth knowing before you choose it: the ISBN belongs to DreamEngine's registration, not yours. So if you ever move the book to a different publisher, you'll need a new one.

Optional: Beyond Amazon

KDP Select covers Amazon, and for many authors that's enough. If you want your book on Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, or Barnes & Noble too, we give you a guide for adding each one yourself. The same guide covers IngramSpark, for wider bookshop reach.

We also give you a sample bookshop outreach email, so you can approach shops directly if you want to try. If you'd rather have hands-on help with any of this, Edward is available at an hourly rate.

What This Is Not

This is not traditional publishing, and it is not a distribution deal. We don't have agreements with bookshops to stock your title. Beyond the initial setup, we don't manage your sales account, your pricing, or your royalties, that all stays with you. No publisher, traditional or otherwise, can promise a book sells. We won't tell you we can either.

If a Traditional Deal Is What You're After

If a genuine traditional deal, with an agent or a major publisher, is what you're working towards, this isn't that. Author Mythology is the process built for that. It defines the author identity agents and publishers actually look for before they say yes.

Write non-fiction rather than fiction? The same process is available from HelpLoveSupport, DreamEngine's non-fiction imprint.

Author Mythology

Your book is ready. Your author identity may not be.

Before a literary agent reads your manuscript, they search your name. Before a reader buys your book, they look you up. Author Mythology is DreamEngine's process for building the complete author identity that makes both take you seriously.

Build Your Author Identity

Publishing with DreamEngine

DreamEngine Publishing offers professional book production through Publish with DreamEngine. It's a flat fee, and you publish through your own Amazon account, so you keep everything it earns. An optional upgrade adds DreamEngine as your credited publisher. Some authors are working towards a genuine traditional deal instead, with an agent or a major publisher. Author Mythology is where that starts. For a complete overview of all routes, read our guide to book publishing.

For authors building their platform, DreamEngine offers social media management and author website design. Both are developed from a complete author identity brief. Manuscript development is available through our story consultancy with Dr David Baboulene. For authors already published, our book marketing service supports promotional campaigns and reader engagement.

Navigating the Publishing Landscape

Before you submit or publish, it helps to understand the options clearly. Our guides to what is hybrid publishing, what is traditional publishing, and what is self-publishing explain the real differences in investment, rights, and royalties. If you are approaching agents or publishers, read why literary agents search your name before they read your manuscript.

For authors at the production and marketing stage, our posts on professional book editing, book cover design, professional book design, and how to optimise your Amazon KDP book listing provide practical guidance. To build your author platform, read our posts on social media for authors, websites for authors, and book publicity.
